Board of Commissioners of the Alachua County Housing Authority is composed of five (5) Citizen members and two (2) Tenant members, all of whom have distinguished themselves as valuable community leaders. Their efforts as Commissioners have resulted in 30 years of positive and pro-active leadership and administration.

Seeking New Tenant Commissioners.
The Alachua County Housing Authority (ACHA) is currently accepting applications for two positions of Tenant Commissioner. This is a volunteer, unpaid position on the ACHA Board of Commissioners that is open to Public Housing residents and Housing Choice Voucher participants only.
The Tenant Commissioner represents the residents of our Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8, HUD VASH) programs. The Tenant Commissioner, along with additional members of the Board, participates in advising staff on the financial and managerial decisions related to the operation of the programs of the ACHA. As a member of the ACHA Board of Commissioners, you will bring firsthand knowledge to assist in establishing policies, developing new housing opportunities and work with a group of dynamic individuals to provide quality housing for low and moderate-income families.
As a member of the Board of Commissioners, the Tenant Commissioner is provided opportunities to travel to conferences and trainings to learn new and innovative ideas that can be brought back to the Board to help develop the programs of the ACHA.
The Tenant Commissioner will be responsible for attending monthly board meetings held on the first Wednesday of every month starting at 5:00pm in the Cathy Bolton Scott Conference Room located at the main offices of the ACHA 703 NE 1st St. Gainesville.
