Maintenance Technician I and II

The Alachua County Housing Authority located in Gainesville Florida is seeking to hire for the full time positions of Maintenance Technician I and II.

 

The positions are responsible for performing routine repairs and maintenance under limited supervision and to perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain public housing units within the ACHA community. Position requires ability to perform on-call responsibilities and be a team player.

 

Education and experience to include a minimum of a high school diploma or GED with preference to those with a two year degree in mechanical, electrical, and/or industrial maintenance. Any equivalent combination of experience, education and training will be considered. Certifications in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and gas a plus with electrical and gas certification preferred. Appropriate candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment background check and drug testing. Candidates must possess or be able to acquire a valid Florida driver’s license. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communication, work independently, multi task, and take pride in the work performed. Position requires driving to outlying locations at the start of the day.
