Two – Three Bedroom Public Housing Waiting List Opening – Only Mail-In Applications
This notice is to advise that the Alachua County Housing Authority (ACHA) will be closing the two and three bedroom waiting list on March 31, 2017 at 4:00PM Therefore, at that time we will no longer be accepting applications for these waiting list.
Four and Five-Bedroom Public Housing Waiting List Opening – Appointment Only
This notice is to advise that the Alachua County Housing Authority (ACHA) will be accepting applications for families that qualify for a four and five (4 and 5) bedroom units. Interested applicants may apply Monday – Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Applications will be taken at the ACHA offices located at 703 NE 1st Street Gainesville, FL 32601.
Please be advised that ALL adult household members must fill out necessary application documents. Additionally, each applicant must bring ALL household members social security cards, birth certificates and current photo identification for any member 18 years of age or older. Criminal background screenings will be conducted on all adult household members. Applicants already on waiting lists for other housing programs must apply separately for this program and such applicants will not lose their place on other waiting lists when they apply for public housing. RESIDENT NOTIFICATION – TENANT CHARGE LIST REVISION
As stated in the HUD Federal Regulation 24CFR 966.5 Posting of policies, rules and regulations, schedules of special charges for services, repairs and utilities and rules and regulations which are required to be incorporated in the lease by reference shall be publicly posted in the conspicuous manner in the Development Office and shall be furnished to applicants and tenants upon request. This regulation further provides that such schedules, rules and regulations may be modified from time to time by the PHA provided that the PHA shall give at least a 30-day written notice to each affected tenant setting forth the proposed modifications, the reasons therefore, and providing the tenant an opportunity to present written comments which shall be taken into consideration by the PHA prior to the proposed modification becoming effective.
