Board of Commissioners
The Board of Commissioners of Alachua County Housing Authority is composed of five (5) Commissioners, all of whom have distinguished themselves as valuable community leaders. Their efforts as Commissions of the Alachua County Housing Authority have resulted in 30 years of positive and pro-active leadership and administration.
The purpose of the Alachua County Housing Authority’s Board of Commissioners is to maintain the policy and fiduciary responsibilities pertaining to the Alachua County Housing Authority.
Max Wells
Mr. Wells is Chairman of the Board of Commissioners for the Alachua County Housing Authority. He was elected to the Board of Commissioners in 1983. He is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the American Legion.
Paul Fuller
Mr. Fuller is the Vice Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners for the Alachua County Housing Authority. He was elected to the Board of Commissioner sin 1987. Mr. Fuller is employed by the Alachua County School Board of Project Coordinator of the Construction Services Department in Facilities. Mr. Fuller is a veteran of the U.S. Army and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal (ARCOM). He has served on the Board of Gainesville / Alachua County Neighborhood Housing Services, the Board for the Florida School Plan Management Association and was an active member of the Gainesville Gator Exchange Club where he served as past President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
Mark Schroeppel
Mr. Schroeppel was elected to the Board of Commissioners in 1998. he is retired from the United States Air Force and is currently employed at Santa Fe Community College.
John Wershow
Mr. Wershow is a local attorney who was elected to the Board of Commissioners. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Florida Bar Association, Alachua County Farm Bureau, and former member of the Suwannee River Management Council.
Christine Mayes
Ms. Mayes was elected by the Board of Commissioners and is currently a Public Housing resident living in Waldo, Florida. She is a grandmother raising one grandchild and has worked for the School Board of Alachua County for many years.
